Temple stays and community assets
A place with a past. A stay with a future.
Temples, historic buildings and local traditions offer experiences that cannot be found anywhere else. Tabimusubi helps explore accommodation uses while respecting the spaces and activities that a community has cared for over time.
We consider not only how to create a place to stay, but also its relationship with the neighbourhood, day-to-day upkeep and an operating approach that can continue sustainably.
When to talk to us
You may want to make use of an empty room or a building you own, create a stay that shares local culture, understand the upkeep costs and the operating burden of a building, or judge whether an accommodation business can coexist with community life. Please tell us at the concept stage.
What we help with
| Stage | What we do |
|---|---|
| Concept and intended use | We clarify the activities to protect, the people who use the space and the areas that can be open, and consider the purpose and form of accommodation. |
| Feasibility | We organise the building and regulatory points to check, a rough budget, the operating approach and the specialists needed. |
| Opening preparations | Within the agreed scope, we coordinate how to approach interiors, equipment, photography, guest information and sales preparation. |
| Day-to-day operations | We consider an approach to reservations, guests, cleaning and neighbourhood considerations that can be sustained. |
What we care about
Religious activities and local life come first. We work carefully through access areas, quiet hours, event dates, photography and guest rules. Where cultural experiences are included, we confirm the wishes and the operating capacity of the temple and the community. We do not advertise experience programmes or partner facilities as available before they have been agreed.
About fees
A phased proposal for assessment, planning and opening preparations.
The work required depends on the building, proposed use, investigation needs and operating plan. We separate assessment and business planning, opening preparations and ongoing management, and propose the relevant support and fees.
Construction, furniture, equipment, administrative and professional fees are distinguished from Tabimusubi's service fees. Enquiries alone do not trigger paid work.
If you ask us to manage the property, our intention is to apply the standard management rate (20% of eligible revenue, tax excluded) to facilities we can support, and we set out the scope of work and additional costs before you commit.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I talk to you before deciding whether to offer accommodation?
- Yes. We ask about the building and the activities you wish to protect, and start with what needs to be checked first.
- Are experiences such as zazen or sutra copying required?
- No. We consider them according to the policy and the operating capacity of the temple and the community.
- Can any building become an accommodation facility?
- It depends on the building, the location, property rights and the procedures required. We explain separately the points that need investigation or professional review.
